
BCS Choral Festival
The Elementary & Middle School Choral Festival provides choirs with a supportive, non-competitive environment in which to perform, learn, and grow. Ensembles will showcase their preparation, receive constructive feedback, and be recognized for their musical achievements.
Performance Experience
- Each choir will perform two prepared selections
- Performances are evaluated by esteemed choral adjudicators
- Written and/or verbal feedback will be provided to support musical growth
Registration Information
- Registration Fee: $200 per choir
- Multi-Choir Discount per school:
- 2 choirs: $375
- 3 choirs: $540
- 4 choirs: $695
- Capacity: Space is limited; early registration is encouraged
Festival Dates & Locations
- Friday, May 8 – Wesley United Methodist Church
- Friday, May 15 – Drury University, Spangler Hall
Final performance schedules, arrival instructions, and additional logistics will be shared after registration closes.
Festival Schedule & Logistics
Each choir will be assigned a 40-minute time block, which includes:
- 20 minutes for warm-up
- 20 minutes for performance and adjudication/clinic
Festival sessions will be scheduled during the following time windows:
- 8:00–10:00 AM
- 10:00 AM–12:00 PM
- 1:00–3:00 PM
Directors are encouraged to select all time blocks that could work for their ensemble to assist with scheduling.
Awards and Recognition
All participating choirs will receive an overall rating and recognition:
- Gold Award
- Silver Award
- Bronze Award
Awards are based on adjudication criteria and are designed to honor achievement rather than rank ensembles against one another.
