Who We Are
Founded in 2008, Springfield Chamber Chorus is dedicated to acting as ambassadors, artists, and educators, integrating choral music into the life of our community through meaningful experiences for both singer and audience. The chorus, an entirely volunteer ensemble of 40 members, exists to pursue artistic excellence while commissioning new works, supporting emerging talent, and promoting artistic collaboration throughout our region. Springfield Chamber Chorus has been featured at both the Missouri Choral Directors Association and the Missouri Music Educators Association annual conferences on multiple occasions.
Under the baton of Artistic Director Christopher B. Brammer, the chorus has released several audio and video recordings, including “A Springfield Christmas”, a television special featuring local school and community choirs each holiday season, and the premiere of “Forgotten Voices”, a choral song cycle by composer Katie Kring, featuring the voices of Springfield’s unhoused community.
Springfield Chamber Chorus’s artistic vision and growing presence in Missouri and beyond are reflected in diverse and engaging repertoire. Performances highlight a wide range of classic and contemporary choral pieces and engage choral lovers and new audience members alike.
